My name is Yonghong Duan. I come from Zhengzhou, China. Zhengzhou locate the center of China, the capital of Henan Province. As an associate Professor I am employed in Geophysics Exploration Center of China Seismological Bureau. I graduated from the Geophysics department of Yunnan University of China in 1984 and received my master degree from China Geology University(Beijing) in July 1993. I will spend three months at Geodynamics Research Center, Ehime University till 30th September. 　My principal research interests are in the understanding the crustal and upper mantle velocity structure. Volcano seismic research is another interesting field in my study. To monitor earthquake activities of Jingbohu volcano, I deployed 16 broadband seismometers at Jingbohu volcanic area in northeast of China from May to September 2002. For study the structure of west Pacific plate subduction zone I will deploy 20 broadband seismometers in northeast China from 2005 to 2006. Using Receiver Function method, I have submitted two papers about crustal structure and discontinuities structure of upper mantle in northeast China, two papers will be published in Chinese J. Geophys. recently.
　The main propose of my visit the Seismological Laboratory of GRC is to learn advance tomography from Professor Zhao. Tomography is a very good method to obtain the deep structure of subduction zone in northeast China. I will do more research works to study the geodynamical process of west Pacific plate subducting beneath Eurasia plate along Japan trench in coming years. During my visit time I plan to study the crust structure of east-north China using tomography method. Locate earthquake data and Pg wave data that are from explosive seismic sounding in Changbai volcanic area will be used in the tomography.
　I have been here nearly two months. Matsuyama gave me very good impressions. It is a clean and quiet city. There are some mountains around the city. I have seen many wonderful landscapes and culture stuffs that are different from China. Matsuyama castle is a good travel situation. It has a long history. I will enjoy the life in Matsuyama.
