要 旨
Iron has been expected to take the hexagonal close-packed (hcp) structure at Earth’s inner core conditions. However, the information obtained by my previous research for calcium indicates that iron has a possibility to take complex crystal structures at the core. In the seminar, I will introduce my developing algorithm for the exploration of the structures under high-pressure and high-temperature, Free Energy Surface Trekking (FEST), and I will show the results obtained by applying FEST to iron at 400GPa.
