要 旨
Existence of hydrogen in Earth’s interior is considered to be important for mantle dynamics, since hydrogen considerably change the physical properties of mantle minerals. Serpentine is one of hydrous phyllosilicates containing significant amount of water in the structure. Serpentine is formed by reaction between peridotite and water which is released from hydrous mineral in subdunting slab. Precise determination of elastic properties of serpentine is essential for estimating the degree of serpentinization by seismological observation, and investigating dynamics and circulation of water in the Earth. Here we investigated by first principles calculation method, the elastic properties of lizardite and antigorite, which are polysomes of serpentine. In the presentation, we report the detailed elastic properties of serpentine at relatively low pressure conditions up to 10 GPa and discuss the difference of compression mechanism and elasticity between lizardite and antigorite.
