要 旨
Gas hydrate is made of hydrogen-bonded water molecules forming cages or frameworks that include guest gas molecules. Recently, hydrogen has attracted attention as a new energy resource, and hydrogen hydrate is expected to be the storage of hydrogen molecules. In the protostar, it was reported that cage structure of hydrogen hydrate could potentially hold hydrogen to high temperature in bodies previously. Also, hydrogen hydrate could exist in the extrasolar planets. Therefore, in order to estimate the formation and evolution process and the interiors in protostar and planets, high pressure experiments of hydrogen hydrate are important. In the material sciences, the high pressure structure of hydrogen hydrate shows the remarkable stability. This stability is considered to be induced by some intermolecular interactions. However, the intermolecular interactions for hydrogen hydrate under higher pressures have not yet been clarified. In this seminar, the structural changes for hydrogen hydrate under high pressure will be introduced. Also, the vibrational changes of guest hydrogen molecules will be shown. Then, the reasons for the stability will be discussed with regard to the intermolecular interactions with pressure.
