Abstract
The presence of water in the Earth's mantle has great implications for the dynamics and evolution of the Earth. The water storage capacities in the mantle constituent minerals have been clarified so far, and these results indicate that mantle transition zone should be a main water reservoir in the Earth interiors. However, to know the actual water contents in the mantle is difficult issue. Comparison of the observed geophysical data with the mineral physics data is one of the royal roads to know the water content in the mantle. I will talk about the recent progress about this issue.
