要 旨
Phosphorus (P5+) is a peculiar element since it can form its own minerals
(phosphates), it can replace silicon in silicate minerals, and, in reduced
environments (e.g. iron or stony-iron meteorites), it can occur as phosphides.
At the Earth's surface, besides phosphate minerals, organic forms of phosphorus
are encountered. Phosphorus is essential for life and, frequently, its
abundance can limit biological productivity.I 'd like to show that, although
phosphorus is a minor element in most parts of the Earth, its contrasted
behavior can be used to constrain petrological and geochemical processes
at various levels of the Earth. However, many fundamental physical and
chemical properties are still lacking for this element and its compounds
(e.g. thermochemical property, diffusion kinetics, melting temperature,
solubility, high-pressure and high-temperature behavior). Recent progress
made in that direction will be outlined.
